Lincoln: NBC orders pilot inspired by the novels of Jeffery Deaver & nbsp;
Twenty years after The Bone Collector's film adaptation, starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, NBC will launch the series inspired by the stories of the hero of the American novelist, Lincoln Rhyme.
In 1997, Jeffery Deaver published The Bone Collector, the first novel involving the character of Lincoln Rhyme, a brilliant New York police criminologist paralyzed for life after a serious accident. Two years later, director Phillip Noyce unveiled his film adaptation with Denzel Washington in the leading role and Angelina Jolie in that of Amelia Sachs, a young New York police recruit. Together, this pair tracks down a mysterious serial killer who likes to leave them enigmatic clues alongside the bodies he sacrifices.
Today, the character of Lincoln Rhyme is at the center of fourteen novels by Jeffery Deaver, four of which have not yet been translated into French. NBC will give a new dimension to its investigations by ordering the pilot of the series entitled Lincoln produced by Universal Television, Sony Pictures Television and Keshet Studios. Mark Bianculli and VJ Boyd (S.W.A.T.) will be the screenwriters and executive producers alongside Avi Nir (Homeland), Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan. No name has filtered out regarding the pilot's cast.
Jeffery Deaver's crime novels are translated worldwide, in more than 120 countries. Besides Lincoln Rhyme, he has developed several series of books around the characters of Kathryn Dance, Colter Shaw, Rune and John Pellam. After The Cutting Edge, released last year (with Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs), The Never Game (with Colter Shaw) is expected in the United States next May. In France, the last novel released was Peur panique in October 2017 by Deux Terres, a translation of Solitude Creek released two years before.
